How It Works

1

Sponsors (those in the diaspora) purchase Wastina membership for their loved ones back home and register them as beneficiaries/recipients.

2

American Medical Center receives payment for the membership type from the sponsor.

3

Beneficiary’s information will be processed by American Medical Center, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

4

Beneficiaries (the sponsorship beneficiary in Ethiopia) will receive their Membership ID cards at American Medical Center.

5

Membership coverage begins 7 working days after payment for membership has been received.

6

Beneficiaries (the sponsorship beneficiary in Ethiopia) will receive healthcare services from American Medical Center or other affiliated healthcare institutions according to the purchased membership type.

7

The beneficiary will have a personal physician/primary care physician (PCP) assigned to them. There is no limit to how often and how many times a beneficiary can see their PCP. The beneficiary also has the right to change their PCP. During the first visit to a PCP, the beneficiary will be offered a comprehensive annual general check-up, which will help the physician and the patient understand their overall health status and act accordingly.

8

American Medical Center, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, handles all service/payment related inquiries or disputes.
